Based on the successful application of low-located drainage roadway to drain gas from the lower adjacent seam of B9 working face during extraction of 455B9 face, the paper summarized the effective ways for gas control when the protective seams of a group of short-interval seams was first extracted in Huainan Coal Mining Area, i.e. to reasonably laay out the low-located drainage roadway and drill crossing holes to capture and drain gas from the lower adjacent seam.
