【Abstract】 Quality is an important category in European philosophy history. Hegel was the first person who gave a precise definition to it. On the basis of this, Marx, Engles and Lelin made a brilliant exposition of it. Most of dictionaries published domestically and Marxist philosophy textbooks define quality as a kind of "internal stipulation", which is not keeping with the theoretically logical demands and the original intention of Marx.
