【Abstract】 Information Retrieval in distributed and heterogeneous databases becomes an urgent problem faced by libraries nowadays. In this paper, the authors discuss several traditional-methods solving this problem and analyze union searching systems such as Metalib and MAP. Then they introduce a novel method based on the Webservice, which is able to search different formats of information such as Video, text and webpage. It is said that the Webservice-based system gives a more efficient way with respect to the integration of digital resources.更多还原
