【Abstract】 The reasons of occurring significant maloperationsof AGCs in the control systems of several hydropower plantsare analyzed, and it is pointed out that in the applications ofAGCs for hydropower plants the hidden dangers affecting thesystem security may exist. By means of analyzing all of thefunctional blocks in AGC, it is pointed out that because someinfluences of external blocks related to AGC are not thoroughlyconsidered, so that the maloperation of AGC may be caused bythese influences, and the secure and stable operation of powersystem may be badly affected. The authors have designed aspecial testing scheme and testing contents for the securityproblems of AGCs in hydropower plants and in the practicaltestings to the control systems of several hydropower plants thesignificant deficiencies in the functions of AGCs are found,therefore, the countermeasures to overall solve the existingsecurity problems of AGCs in hydropower plants are putforward.更多还原
