【Abstract】 This paper deduces the atomic inversion of an atomic wave packet in a circularly polarized electromagnetic wave, we discuss further the atomic inversion of the Gaussian wave packet in the e.m. wave in detail, the decay feature of the atomic inversion with time possesses generality.
