【Abstract】 The cognition of commonplace knowledge is related to both prototype and stereotype.Prototype is regarded as "the best exampler" of a category. It is the basis for human being to cognize and categorize the commonplace knowledge. Stereotype can be described as a complex model of categorization of human thoughts among certain group of people.
