【Abstract】 The universal existence of cultural differences in vocabulary and cultural background leads to short- circuits in English reading class.Thus cultural background knowledge is an essential element in English learning.Teachers should consciously give explanations of cultural backgrounds to students and lead them to learn actively.In English reading class, teachers should help them understand the cultural connotations beneath the superficial language.What’s more,certain classroom activities should be organized in order to help students put into use what they learn from reading, and hence the learning will have a better effect.更多还原
