Effects of Al and Mo Content on Castability of Cast Titanium Alloys
【Abstract】 The effects of Al and Mo content on the castability of cast Ti-Al-Mo-1Zr series titanium alloys were studied, by using the less active graphite mould at high temperature and pouring with vacuum consumable electrode arc skull furnace. The results indicate that by increasing the content of Al, the fluidity and contraction properties of alloys increase, but the use of Mo is opposite. In the extent of discussion, the fluidity specification of the series alloys get far above 100mm, line contractibility is not more than 1.2%, bulk contractibility of is below 1.0%,all alloys have not heat cracks. Therefore, it was proved that this series alloys have good castability.
