【Abstract】 The progress in the research of the active ingredients of licorice flavonoid and the pharmacological activities was reviewed. Licorice flavonoid constituents mainly included flavones, flavonals, isoflavones, chalcones, bihydroflavones and bihydrochal-cones. Pharmacological investigation concluded that they had antioxidant, antibacterial, antitumer and inhibiting HIV activities.
