【Abstract】 This paper makes an ideological approach to translation from 9 different aspects, points out that Levefere and Bassnett’ s conception that ideology has absolute influence upon translation is a new dogma, which is contradictory to their theoretical attempt to elevate the cultural status of translation and translation literature.
