【Abstract】 It investigates the possible using of optical CDMA (O-CDMA) in access networks. It begins with a short review of the O-CDMA technique. It investigates in detailed the characteristics of O-CDMA that make it an attractive technology for application in metropolitan access networks: fairness, simplified network control and management, flexibility, service differentiation, and good security. Although O-CDMA has many favorable attributes, it also has several actual and using drawbacks.
