【Abstract】 China’s successful claim for holding the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing makes the Olympic Economy a topic for discussion by the media across the country. Experts and officials gave an ample affirmation of the positive effect of the Olympic Economy, saying that the Olympic Economy will bring about the rapid economic development in the whole country as well as in Beijing and will also help push forward the economic structural reform. Nevertheless, some people, out of goodwill, remind us on the negative effect of the Olympic Economy. This essay hold that the Beijing Olympic Games will surely create, in addition to the earnings from the games itself, a massive investment opportuntly, bring along the development of sports industry and other industries concerned, promote consumption, give impetus to environment harness and city reconstruction.
