【Abstract】 The historic summit between the DPRK leader Kim Jong Il and the Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi was a positive development toward the normalization of the DPRKJapan relations. But the key issue is how the spirit of DPRKJapan Pyongyang Declaration will be realized by the two countries. Because of the historical problems between the two countries, the abduction incidents and the nuclear issues, the prospect for the relations between the two countries is not too optimistic. The improvement of the DPRK-Japan relations depends on whether both the DPRK and the U.S.A. could exercise self-restraint and resume the talks as soon as possible. Meanwhile, the international community should mediate between the two countries to help the DPRK get out of the embarrassing situation.更多还原
