【Abstract】 A new technology for the segmentation and recognition of the nameplate of video moving object is presented. The system consists of three modules, object detection module, nameplate segmentation module and recognition module. The experiment is carried out with 438 automobiles included civil vehicles, military vehicles, police vehicles, etc. in video sequences obtained from tollgate in varied weather and illumination conditions.
