The Romance of the Three Kingdom written by Luo Guanzhong absorbs and revises the stories of ancient books and folks in a creative way, and includes innovative narrations, thereby upgrading folk literature and its social functions. Luo Guanzhong creates a new literary form——fulllength novel, and lays a solid foundation for later zhanghui novel (i.e. a type of traditional Chinese novel with each chapter headed by a couplet giving the gist of its content.) These are his achievement to Chinese novel.
