【Abstract】 Chinese American literature shows its origin in Chinese culture in its adoption of Chinese myths and folklores. The adoption involves both cultural patterns and discourses. Through direct translation or adaptation of Chinese myths and folklores, Chinese American writers insert cultural images in English narration. This insertion enlarges the symbolic meanings of the cultural images in Chinese American literature and reveals their cultural identity as well as the complex and dynamic integrity of Chinese and western contexts.更多还原
