【Author】 Ou Hong is Director of English Poetry Studies Institute at Zhongshan University. He specializes in Anglo-American poetry studies and literary criticism. As a Whitman scholar, he has published research papers on Whitman’s influence on New Chinese Poetry which have been grouped into the bibliography of Walt Whitman Quarterly Review Web Site. His paper "Pantheistic Ideas in The Goddesses and Leaves of Grass" appears in Whitman East and West: New Context for Reading Walt Whitman, (University of Iowa Press, October 2002.) His studies of Gary Snyder also attract attention from relevant international circles. Cao Shanke received his M.A. degree from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania and his Ph.D. degree from Zhongshan University. He is now professor of English at Guangdong Commercial College. His research area is in poetics and literary criticism and he has published more than 40 papers.
