【Abstract】 Scientists in international have done a lot of research on peat and peatland since 1995. The major research fields is the basic characters of peat, the remove and transform of sulfide, methyl mercury, peat-acid and organic substance, the absorption, Bio-filtration and decompose of heavy mental, organic pollutants in peatland, quantity of CO2 and CH4 peatland give out, records of ancient environment in peatland, utilization of peat and peatland.
