【Abstract】 The article briefly describes the production application, and demand and supply status as well as consumption structure of PTMEG in domestic and abroad. The development prospect of PTMEG market is also looked forward. China market would be short of 42000t PTMEG in 2005. The necessity of adopting advanced technology to realize economic scale was analysed. It was pointed out that development of PTMEG in China must rely on the development of proprietary technology to concentrate on developing production domestically.
