【Abstract】 Both being developing countries, China and India are seeking to develop their economies through participation in regional economic cooperation. Yet they vary, to an considerable extent, in the pattern of participation, number and nature of organizations for the purpose, and degree of involvement. While India pursues a strategy of eastward expansion, China is making her effort to promote cooperation among eastern Asian countries.
