【Abstract】 In analysis of the language varieties of Chinese versions of Bacon’s essay "Of Marriage and Single Life", the paper discusses the choice of language variety in translation. Different varieties of the target language can similarly reproduce the information and style of the source text, and only the reader’s social linguistic context can be proved to be the decisive factor in choosing the proper language variety.更多还原
