【摘要】 世纪之交的时候,音乐学界重新提起“五四”新运动时的方向之争。争论的焦点仍是古今、中西这个古老的话题,说明我们至尽仍在古今、中西这条漫长的峡谷中徘徊。所不同的是,从20世纪初到21世纪初这百年间,中国音乐的现实已经发生了许多重要变化。这里要和大家讨论的,正是以这百年特别是20世纪80年代以来的中国器乐为重点,观察其变化,反思其得失,并从操作层面提出一些具体设想。 对中华民族应该以凤凰涅檗的精神创造新文化这一点,我想当前争论的双方是没有疑义的。 问题的焦点是,我们为什么一定要学习西方?在学习西方的过程中我们得到了什么,又丢失了什么?近百年的实践证明,学习西方,为古老的中国文化输入新鲜血液以促成它的新生,是历史的必然。的确,我们为学习西方付出了极为惨重的代价。但我认为这些代价的付出是必要的。不可设想历史的演变是笔直的,更不可能让昨天的历史按我们今天设计的理想模式从头再来。惟一的选择,是因势利导。纵观近百年的中国音乐史,大体上我们走过的轨迹是:引进-模仿-消化(本土化)-再引进-再消化-回归。其中,20世纪后期中国新音乐出现的向中国传统文化回归的趋势,恰恰是对百年来向西方学习并且在某种程度上偏离了中国文化主体的一种反思和调整。更多还原

【Abstract】 At the turn of the centuries,a dispute over orientation,which was raised during the period of the"May 4th Movement, "occurred once again in the music circle. The topic was focusing on the same old issue of the ancient and the present,of the Chinese and the Western,which implies that even today we are still lingering in the long gorge between the ancient and the present,the Chinese and the Western. However,major changes have taken place in the reality of Chinese mu-sicduring the100 years between the early 20th Century and the 21st Century. I’m trying to discuss about the Chinese instrumental music during the century,especially since the 1920’s,observing its changes and reflecting on its strengths and weaknesses so as to formulate some concrete suggestions.The two parties in the dispute would agree to this assumption that the Chinese nation should resort to the spirit of phoenix nirvana when creating the new culture.The point is why we should learn from the West,,and what we get and what we lose in the process. The century’s practices prove that by learning from the West, we have input fresh blood into the aged Chinese culture. But indeed, we have made it at high cost,though in my opinion it is quite worthwhile. It is impossible to imagine that the history would develop in a straightforward way,nor could we ask the history to happen again in the ways as we wish. What we can do is make the best use of the opportunities. A survey of the century’s history of Chinese music shows that we have experienced this road: introduction - imitation- digestion (localization) - re-introduction - re-digestion - reversion. In this process,the trend of reversion to traditional Chinese culture that occurred in the late 20th century proves to be a retrospect or adjustment over the 100 years’practice of learning from the West and deviating to some extent from the major elements of Chinese culture.更多还原
