Wear experiments of the cutters used in a 9RZ60 model machine were carried out in this work. The effects of the cutter materials, processed objects, position in the machine and blade model on the cutter wear were discussed. The surface morphology on the wear cutters was micro analyzed. It indicated that the model, position and material of a cutter were the main influencing factors, and the polish wear, as well as the abrasive were made by hard particles were the main mechanism.
