【Abstract】 Liberal educationis the tradition of European Education and had become the ideas of university by the middle ages.But with the advance of human civilization and the development of the function of universities,liberal education as a philosophy idea of higher education has encountered reproach and challenge from scientific education and professional education,the core of which is the struggel between "anthropology"and"science".Whether the ultimate solicitude of education is the human being itself or the human being’s instrumental value is the question.This paper analyzes the reasonableness of recurrence of liberal education by observing its hitorical origins and gradual changes of connotations so as to construct ideas of modern universities and further to transcend the tradition of liberal education.更多还原
