【Abstract】 The traditional Chinese view on the issue of family control was a shared viewpoint accruing out of the competition for insufficient resources based on the feudal, isolated, and self-sufficient natural economy. To change this viewpoint on family control, the material base on which it rests must be altered. Only when the constraints people face in their decision-making processes and the objectives they hold change, will their decisions concerning family control undergo significant changes ultimately.
