环烷酸稀土化合物的摩擦学性能研究
Tribological Behavior of Rare-earth Naphthenate as Lubricating Oil Additive
【摘要】 用四球摩擦磨损试验机考察了环烷酸稀土化合物在26#白油中的摩擦学性能,探讨了其同硫系、磷系添加剂的复配作用,并用Auger电子能谱仪和X射线光电子能谱仪研究了钢球磨斑表面边界膜的化学组成和元素分布.结果表明:在边界润滑条件下,环烷酸稀土化合物作为润滑油添加剂具有良好的抗磨性能和承载能力,并具有一定的减摩能力;环烷酸稀土与硫系添加剂复配后极压性能大幅度提高,而与磷系添加剂无协同作用.稀土添加剂在摩擦表面形成富稀土边界膜是该添加剂具有优异摩擦学性能的主要原因.
【Abstract】 The tribological behavior of rareearth naphthenate (REN) as lubricating oil additive in No.26 white oil was evaluated on a fourball friction and wear tester, and that of the complexes of rareearth naphthenate with commercial sulfurized isobutylene (T321) extreme pressure additive or tricresyl phosphate (TCP) antiwear additive were also evaluated under the same conditions. The chemical features and elemental composition of the boundary lubricating film were examined by means of Auger electron spectroscopy and Xray photoelectron spectrometry. The results showed that the rareearth naphthenate exhibited good antiwear behavior and loadcarrying capacity in the base stock. The wear scar diameter of the steel ball lubricated with the base stock containing 2wt.% REN was reduced by 45.3% as compared to that under the lubrication of the base stock alone, while the maximum nonseizer load (pB value) was increased to 2.95 times of that of the base stock. Moreover, REN showed synergistic extreme pressure and antiwear functions when it was complexed with and T321, while it had no such synergistic action with TCP. The excellent antiwear and extreme pressure properties of the REN additive were attributed to the formation of a boundary lubricating film mainly composed of rareearth compounds on the rubbed steel surface.
