【Abstract】 Since China began its economic reform in early 1980s, Zhejiang Province has been one of the regions where non-state-owned small and medium-sized technology-intensive enterprises ( NSOSMTIEs ) have developed most rapidly in China. NSOSMTIEs have contributed greatly to the rapid economic development in Zhejiang and have played an increasingly important role in Zhejiang’s economy. Now its gross domestic product per capita ranks No. 1 among all the provinces and autonomous regions in China. In order to obtain first-hand information and data about NSOSMTIEs in Zhejiang, make an analysis of them and find out the problems NSOSMTIEs are confronted with in their development and seek their solutions, a survey was conducted among the NSOSMTIEs during the period of January 2000-June 2000. On the basis of the survey, the paper at first makes a comparison between NSOSMTIEs and the other forms of enterprises in Zhejiang Province, displays and analyzes their advantages and disadvantages, strong points and weak points, finds out their problems, then puts forward some suggestions for the improvement of NSOSMTIEs. Finally it concludes that NSOSMTIEs will have great potential for development with China WTO entry and make greater contributions to the economy in Zhejiang if their environment is further improved.更多还原
