【Abstract】 The paper discusses the challenge and the technical difficulties of the current WebGIS development and introduces the concept, features and advantages of SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics), a rising open modularized language for describing two dimensional vector and mixed vector/raster graphics in XML with text.
