【Abstract】 In order to overcome the shortcomings of fractal image coding algorithm including huge computing quantity, long coding time, etc, this paper presents a kind of fractal image coding algorithm with optimum codeBook seeking(OCS). And through applied it in the quadtree-based fractal image coding algorithm it shows its high seeking efficiency, short coding time and high quality of reconstruct images.
