铯冷原子喷泉Ramsey跃迁实验
Ramsey Transition on Cold Cesium Atomic Fountain
【摘要】 中国计量科学研究院利用冷原子喷泉实现了9.19GHz微波与铯原子作用的Ramsey跃迁。文中介绍了NIM4#喷泉钟相关的微波 光学系统在时序控制下完成原子选态 激励 探测 信号处理的原理和装置,给出了Ramsey实验曲线:喷泉高度74cm时,Ramsey中心条纹FWHM约为0.95Hz,信噪比S N约40。实验结果的Ramsey中心条纹宽度、Rabi台宽度与相应的理论计算符合很好。
【Abstract】 The Ramsey transition produced by interaction of 9.19 GHz microwave and cesium atoms has been realized with cold atomic fountain at the National Institute of Metrology for the first time in China. With 74 cm fountain, the FWHM of the central Ramsey fringe is about 0.95 Hz with S/N~40. The principle and the part of NIM4# fountain clock, related to the microwaveatom interaction, the detection and signal process, performed under the control of the timesequence system, is reported. The experimental widths of the Ramsey central fringes and the Rabi pedestals agreed well with their theoretical predictions.
