【Abstract】 This paper expatiates on the necessity of establishing strategic petroleum reserve, and introduces briefly the situation and facilities of international petroleum reserve, and presents our concepts of oil storage facilities. The research of oil storage vessels is based on the conceptual design. According to the situation in China, the paper proposes a conceptual design of 800,000 m3 floating steelstructure oil storage vessels, establishes a 3D finite element model of oil storage vessels, and makes a cabindivided design based on 3D finite element strength analysis.
