地理信息系统的发展及其在海洋领域中的应用

【摘要】 系统介绍了海洋地理信息系统(MGIS)的特点、成果和发展趋势,它使海洋信息数据的建库和管理向科学化、可视化、便捷化方向发展。海底蕴藏着丰富的矿产资源,而海岸带聚集着地球上大部分的人口和城市。因此,"数字海底"和"海岸带"研究是当前MGIS研究的切入点。

【Abstract】 Geographic Information System (GIS), a kind of computer system related to spatial data management, spatial information analyses and transmission and which came into being in 1960s, has been proved very successful by the threedecade application to marine fields. In the paper, the background and simple courses of GIS development in China and overseas are summarized. And also the directions of GIS in the future are discussed from multi points of view, such as theory, technology and application. In the current situation, ’Digital Earth’ provides wide spaces for GIS development, and more GIS research work in marine fields should be done. Finally, the features, achievements and development trend of Marine GIS (MGIS) are introduced systematically. It is believed that MGIS is a necessary and important component part of ’Digital Marine’ and it leads the establishment and management of marine information data to the scientific, visible and convenient development. Thus, the "Digital Seafloor" and "Coastal Zone", related with survival and development of natural coastal environment, is a breakthrough of the MGIS researches.
