【Abstract】 The survey of ELISE, European Language & International Strategy Development in SMEs, finds that language barriers can affect the development of enterprises. Based on the finding, the following three implications can be drawn for Chinese enterprises: the importance of languages under open economy, the diversity of languages used in international business, and the durability of language barriers.
