【Abstract】 MENG Hao-ran had a strong desire for a feudal official in his life, the main purpose of which was faithful to the wiser emperor, filial to his parents, to help the common people and to strive for a man of mark. He seeked for a feudal official by means of a ’shortcut’ to high office, an imperial examination, recommendation of famous men, making friends and offering his poetry.
