【Abstract】 The PMD in singlemode fiber, including the relationships between PMD and the circular asymmetries of geometry and stress in fiber, the influence of mode coupling on PMD, are discussed. PMD is a random variable because of manufacturing variations and external perturbations, has instantaneous statistical characteristic, and should be estimated on fiber optic cable products using Monte Carlo simulation software.更多还原
