【Abstract】 The city design of the coastal waterfront of Haikou focuses on the environmental protection and tourism development with emphasesplaced on the development and control of the spatial pattern, land utilization and landscape formation. In city design for the waterfront of a citythe principle of coastal resource sharing and social fairness should be observed.,the step-by-step method should be used,the existing social,cultural and historical value should be respected,the link between the waterfront with the hinterland and other open space of the city should bestrengthed,and development should be carried out accordingly.[更多还原
