【Abstract】 Based on the widely use of information technology, Electronic currency is the transaction service system of payment and settlement. By the analysis of the function, characteristic and emission body of electronic currency, we can conclude that the electronic currency not only is a simple substitution for the traditional paper currency,but also will impact heavily on the present monopoly of central banks.
