ROAM算法原理及其应用研究
Research on theory and application of ROAM method
【摘要】 目前,若不涉及细节层次(LOD)的地形算法则很难实现地形的实时可视化,细节层次地形算法采用启发式的方法确定地形的哪些部分需要更为详细的细节以使显示效果更为真实。ROAM算法就是通过采用分解和合并方法实时地调整三角形网格,能交互式地实现观察依赖、局部可调整的地形网格化处理,生成多分辨率的地形模型。ROAM算法能以高帧速提供具有数千三角形的高质量的三角网, 其简单和可扩展性使其成为目前地形渲染中广泛研究的算法。
【Abstract】 At present,it seems that you can抰 implement real-time terrain visualization without relating to Level of Detail(LOD) Terrain Algorithms. LOD algorithms use a set of heuristics to determine which parts of a landscape need more detail to look correct. ROAM method adopts split and merge operations to adjust triangle meshes, can interactively perform view-dependent, locally-adaptive terrain meshing and can construct multiresolution terrain model. ROAM method can produce triangle-net with thousands tiangles. Its simplicity and expansibility make it become a terrain rendering method being researched widely.
