【Abstract】 The purpose of the this work is to identify specific group composition in heavy oil and tar using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with ultraviolet (UV) and difference detectors. A Zorbax- NH 2 column (250 mm×4.6 mm i.d.) was employed. Hexane was used as the mobile phase with a flow rate of 1.5～2.0 mL/min. Aromatics and polar compound in heavy oil and tar were determined by UV detector and saturates were characterized by difference detector. Asphaltene was defined as hexane insolubles. Aromatics distribution in heavy oil and tar was also determined based on their elution times. The accuracy and reproducibility were satisfactory.更多还原
