【Abstract】 Biometrics technology can be used for either identification or authentication purposes. The most commonly known method of biometric identification is fingerprint biometrics. Other biometrical methods of identification include iris and retinal scans, facial feature recognition, fingerprinting, signature dynamics and voice verification. These technologies have many potential uses in the physical living space and virtual living space. Based on biometrical recognition principles, two types of biometrics technology are discussed in this paper. One is founded on the physiological features; iris and retinal scans, facial feature recognition, fingerprinting.
