内蒙古北山及邻区金属矿床类型及其时空分布
Type and Temporal-Spatial Distribution of Metal Deposits in the Beishan Mountains, Inner Mongolia, and Its Neighboring Region
【Abstract】 The Beishan Mountains, Inner Mongolia, and its neighbouring region is located at the convergence area of the Siberian, Kazakhstanian, Tarim and North China paleo - plates, and is one of the most important metallogenic provinces in China. Deep faults, Paleozoic igneous rocks and metallic deposits (prospects) are well developed in the region due to the multiphase Paleozoic orogenic events. All these metallic deposits can be classified into six types in term of their host rocks- (1) porphyry Mo (Au) and Cu deposits; (2) skarn Fe -Cu and Cu deposits; (3) Fe and Sb deposits occurring within volcanic terrain; (4) vein type W, Sn and rare metal deposits related to granitoids; (5) Cr, V, Ti and Fe deposits related to basic - ultrabasic intrusions; (6) Au, Fe and Cu deposits hosted by metamorphic rocks. Based on a systematic studies of the representative metallic deposits, four mineralization concentration camps have been outlined. They include (1) eastern Mazongshan Fe, Cu and Au camp; (2) Yueyashan-Xiaohuangshan Fe, V and Cr camp; (3) Heiyingshan-Jiaochagou Fe and Au camp, and (4) Elegengwulanwula - Wuzhuergashun Fe and Cu camp. Among all these four camps, the first one occurs within the ancient continent, and the other three are located along the active margin of the ancient continent. The relationship between the crust evolution and the metallogney can be summarized as follow: (1) Pre -orogenic stage: rift - faulting resulted in the formation of the banded iron formation (BIF) and quartz vein type gold deposits within the ancient continent; (2) closing stage of the oceanic crust: igneous activities on the sea floor produced the Fe, Cr, and V deposits; (3) collision and orogenic stage: a number of porphyry Mo (Au), Cu as well as skarn Fe -Cu deposits are formed; (4) Post - orogenic stage; W, Sn and rare metal deposits genetically related to the emplacement of crust - derived granitoids. Systematic geological investigations on the mineral resources of the region indicate that the wall rocks of these metal deposits vary from one place to place, but most of them show an intimate relation with the Hercynian tectonism and magmatism. Geological and geochemical features of these deposits have attracted the domestic and international geologists’ attentions. The integrated analyses of he geological setting, geological and geochemical features of these deposits will greatly upgrade the understanding of the ore-forming processes of the deposits. Meanwhile, the genetic model and mineral exploration criteria of these metal deposits can also be used during the comprehensive evaluation of the concealed metal deposits in the Inner Mongolian Beishan and its neighbouring region.
