【Abstract】 This paper focused on describing the characteristics of geocoding’s application and development in technology. Starting off with the definition of geocoding,this paper discussed the roles of geocoding in address location and integration of geospatial information. On the basis of research work on the methods and domains of geocoding applications in foreign countries, this paper summarized the correlative issues on its applications. These issues include the approaches and strategies to improve geocoding.
