【Abstract】 It is the Chinese traditional culture that townspeoples worshiped the town gods as the idols and every city built temple for their own town god. Around the temples in neat and serious formation there are always the flourishing markets filled with interesting customs. This paper reviews the history that the town gods had been worshiped in ancient China and tries to describe the culture of town god temples in several angles. Based on these, some reference points are recommended to the investigators of modern cities.更多还原
