【Abstract】 This article reviews the literature on the relation between EOP and performance,and then analyzes it in theoretical dimension and points out the functioning mechanism of EOP.By analyzing three frequently mentioned hypotheses when discussing the relation:Profit Converging Hypothesis, Self-defending Hypothesis, and Risk Avoidance Hypothesis,the author argues that the notion that EOP would be helpful to improve performance is too simplified. However, the effectiveness of EOP is influenced by various factors from inside and outside of the company.Therefore, it is beneficial to envisage the function and limitation of EOPin a higher dimension both theoretically and practically.更多还原
