This article suggests that college English textbooks stress the development of language ability by following the basic principles of communicative methodology and make teaching patterns stereoscopic on the basis of comparative research on three different college English textbooks published in recent years and of making statistical analysis from the selection of text-materials to vocabularies and so on.
