【Abstract】 Using allozyme electrophoresis and mtDNA sequencing, we examined the genetic diversity of southeastern Chinese Hynobius. Allozyme data revealed a moderate interspecific difference between Hynobius amjiensis and H. yiwuensis . This is in contrast to a relatively large difference in mitochondrial DNA. Hynobius amjiensis has a high degree of inbreeding ( f = 0 846) and H. yiwuensis has substantial population substructure ( θ = 0 688). The island population of H. yiwuensis differs from the mainland population both genetically and phylogenetically. Our fieldwork also suggested that several populations of H. yiwuensis may be extirpated or on the verge of extinction.更多还原
