【Abstract】 Artistic combination of lyric inspiration and epic ambition is explored in this paper as a key to the understanding of Charles Olson’s poetics and his Maximus Poems. Binding together his personal emotion and his national spirit, Olson, a poet of contemporary American long poem, inserts a lyric self into an epic totality in his poetic presentation. A reading of Olson’s Maximus Poems as a lyric epic opens up a new space in the study of modern American long poem. 更多还原
