【Abstract】 This site is located at Gejiazhuang village of Nandaguo township of Qiaoxi district in the southern suburb of Xingtai city,Hebei province,in the plain at the eastern foot of the Taihang Mountains.Archaeological survey and trial excavation were carried out in the northern area of the site in October—December,1998,which resulted in the discovery of ash-pits,storage pits,pottery-making kilns and plentiful pottery,stone,bone and shell objects.The cultural remains of the site can he divided into three periods each with two developmental stages.The first period belongs to the predynastic Shang culture:the second to the mid Shang culture,its date being somewhat later than the Baijiazhuang period of the upper Erligang culture and earlier than the Yinxu Ⅰ culture;the third to the late Shang culture, its first stage corresponding to the Yinxu Ⅰ culture,and its second stage showing cultural features close to those of the Yinxu Ⅱ culture.The excavation provides important material for studying the origin of the predynastic Shang culture and the periodization of the Shang’s history.更多还原
