Association Between AngiotensinConverting Enzyme Polymorphism and Leve of Plsama Lipid
【Abstract】 It has been reported that the isertion (I)/deletion(D)Polymorphism of the angiotensinconverting enzyme(ACE)gene is strongly associated with coronary heart disease(CHD)(such as hypertension left ventricular hypertrophy myocardial infarction). The objective of this study is to assess the rletionship between ACE gene I/D polymorphism and hyperlipidemia. We selected 31 subjects with hyperlipidemia and 34 control subjects without hyperlipidemia from the older people who enrolled yearly health examination in Huashan hospital. The genomic DNA was isolated from blood blot and the ACE genotype was analyzed by polymerase chain reaction.Plsama total cholesterol was measured by enzymatic method. Results:No difference was observed between subjects with hyperlipidemia and controls in ACE genotype frequency(χ2=134 P>0050),Nor in the frequency of allele(χ2=124 P>005 OR=153,95%CI 068~346)。Conclution:These findings suggested that ACE gene polymorphism is not associated with the total cholesterol levels in both subjects with hyperlipidemia and controls. The allele D may not be the risk factor of hyperlipidemia.
