The results of pathogenic test, the characteristics of culture and morphology indicated that the scallion anthracnose was caused by Colletotritrum circinans (Berk. ) Vogl. The optimum temperature for the pathogen growth was 25 - 30℃ and pH 4 - 7 for hyphae growth and pH4 -8 for conidia germination. The pathogen grew well on the media using glucose, sucrose, fructose, maltose, rhamnose or soluble starch as carbon sources.
